To Darlo - CRAZY!
A few weeks back we reported that Darlo had offered Paul Gascoigne a place in their squad, which he turned down flat. In the same article we also said that they were rumoured to be in talks with Asprilla who had appraently been plying his trade in Mexico.

Well, it appears that the rumours were true and Asprilla will be playing for Darlo this season subject to obtaining a work permit from the Home Office.

Darlington move into a purpose built 25K seater stadium this season, and multi-millionaire chairman George Reynolds recognises that a big name could pull in the crowds - hence his attempts to bring both Gazza and Tino back to the North East.

There is no doubt that Tino could single handedly win the third division title in his prime, and Reynolds will certainly be hoping that he has lost none of his skill.

"I want to work with the club and help them to win promotion to the second division," said Asprilla over the weekend.

"I've lept good links with England, I have good friends there and it would be great to play again in the Premiership."
