Newcastle are reportedly chasing the Senegal defender, who plays for Paris St Germain, and according to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle have invited him to St James' Park.
Drame is regarded as one of the best young defenders in France and although the Magpies boss says he wants "experience", Sam is starting to look at who is available, rather than who he ideally wants to sign.
Drame's agent Said Rubie: "Boukary did very well at PSG last year, but wants to test himself at the highest level possible and believes the Premier League is the place to be.
"He has fantastic potential and his game is ideally suited to the demands of the Premier League."
