Cort will fight for place

The injury hit forward made his first Premiership appearance of the season at West Ham last weekend, as a late substitute, but it was enough to whet his appetite for first team football.

"It had been a while since I played in the Premiership. I've been back for a while but the boys are doing particularly well so there's no reason to change it.

"Sometimes injuries and suspensions give you a chance and that's what happened at West Ham.

"You've got to start from somewhere whether it's just the few minutes I was on there. Every little bit is an extra bit of confidence.

"If I can stick in there and be thereabouts I'll be happy with that. The manager has got a lot of good players to choose from so it's important to be patient.

"I've got to stay positive and try and put the injuries behind me and take things from there. I'm not first choice but I'll keep fighting for that place. I've got a never-say-die attitude and hopefully if I stay patient it will come my way.

"We've a lot of players, players are going to be rotated so I'll get opportunities."
