Cort loan bid rejected

Apparently the Saints bid was rejected out of hand with their chairman Rupert Lowe telling the club’s official website: "We did make an enquiry about Cort but that is as far as it has gone. They want to hang onto him."

Despite protestations to the opposite over the summer Sir Bobby appears to have given up on Cort and he no longer even makes the bench, so the decision seems to make no sense at all.

Surely the only way for the club to make any money at all back on the £7million man will be if he plays a few games and possibly impresses a few people, otherwise he will just see out his lucrative contract and leave for free at the end of it.

The only logical explanation is that Sir Bobby plans to bring him back into the team, 17 months after his last Premiership start, but that surely can not be the case.
