The Telegraph report today: "A multi-millionaire entrepreneur from Bradford is masterminding an audacious bid to buy Newcastle United from sports retail tycoon Mike Ashley and bring back Kevin Keegan, it has emerged.

"Afzal Kahn, who purchased the UK's most expensive number plate, F1, for more than £440,000 in January, is putting together a consortium who are preparing a bid for the club."

A source close to Kahn told The Daily Telegraph last night: "Afzal has been interested in buying the club for a while now. He had a look at LFC [Liverpool] but because of circumstances he was not really interested there.

"However, Newcastle may be an option although he hasn't made that official yet. He is heading a consortium that may be interested."

Kahn, 38, has an estimated personal fortune of £40 million. Which, let's be honest, wouldn't buy the Leazes End at SJP ... never mind the club!

He is NOT a football fan, hasn't even mentioned Newcastle United ... so where the hell have the Telegraph dragged up this story from?

Utter BOLLOX.

It gets Afzal Kahn in the newspapers for whatever reason, but I wouldn't read anymore into it.
