Fabricio Coloccini: “When I came here I believed the club could get into Europe.
“It turned into a nightmare for us all, but I believe it also brought the club back together and we are stronger for it now.
“When I first signed I wanted to push on and play European football for this great club.
“Although it did not turn out like that, I think we are heading in the right direction again.
“What is here now is a squad ready for the demands of the season, and it has not been like that in the previous two years.
“We have to make sure in 12 months we are still a Premier League club – and then next season we can genuinely push on to the higher section of the table.”
