Claudio counts us in

The Tinkerman obviously isn’t concerning himself with the fact that even a rare win at Stamford Bridge would leave us seven points behind his team and probably 11 points off the top of the table.

He told the Evening Standard: "Newcastle started badly but I know how hard they worked in pre-season.

"Remember, we were in Malaysia with them this summer so I have a good idea. I knew that, sooner or later, they would start to play much better and that is what has happened.

"I know the league has already been called a three-horse race but I do not agree. The season is very long and things can change a great deal.

"I am not discounting Liverpool or Newcastle. I cannot believe that one of those clubs will not believe they can make up the ground on the top three."

Having watched Chelsea destroy Lazio on Tuesday, I can’t believe that Ranieri genuinely thinks we are a threat to his side’s title chances, despite our improved form of late.
