Clarky Set For Ranger Reunion At Blackpool?

Last updated : 27 October 2014 By Footy Mad - Editor

He was sacked as Birmingham City boss a week ago, and his old team crashed 8-0 at home to Bournemouth two days later.

Read into that what you will. But he hasn't left them in a 'happy place'.

But he could make an immediate return to management with bookmakers saying big money has been placed on him to be Blackpool's next boss and they have dropped him down to 1/4 favourite for the job.

But what mess has he been left by former Blackpool manager Jose Riga?

For starters Blackpool are marooned at the bottom of the Championship, and there is the 'Damien Thorn' of the football world ... Nile Ranger!

Riga blasted former Newcastle striker Nile Ranger before the trip to Smogland (Middlesbrough) a couple of weeks ago, after he published a comment on a social networking site saying ‘F**K SAKE’.

The comment was made in response to Ranger being left out of the Tangerines squad and, as usual, the striker wasn't going to take it lying down.

Jose Riga (at a press conference): "Is it a big surprise with Nile Ranger? No.

“There are rules in the club and as the manager I decide who is part of the 18-man squad and who isn’t.

“Nile knew exactly why he wasn’t in the squad as I explained it to him, they all know.

“He’s stupidly used this way to speak about his problem, and it’s his problem. He knew exactly what I thought before the game and he knows exactly what I thought after he did that.

"He can give me all the explanation, but it’s about him now.

“I’ve spoken to him and for him Blackpool is his last opportunity.

“If he misses this opportunity it will be more his problem than mine."

I'm sure this "last warning" won't bother Ranger. After all, he had 372 at Newcastle!
