Chopra Didn't Get His Dream Move After All

... Dave Jones was able to breathe a huge sigh of relief after seeing his promotion-chasing squad remain intact after the transfer window closed.

Michael Chopra, Ross McCormack, Jay Bothroyd and Adam Matthews were all linked with high-profile moves, but it was probably nothing more than their agents 'spouting off' to try and get a big pay-day.

But Jones, who was unable to bring any new faces into the club due to financial constraints, got his wish and saw his key players remain at the club.

The Cardiff boss said before the transfer window closed: "I've told everybody to stay in bed, turn off the phones and hide. I've told them to go up a mountain where there are no mobiles."

Chopra comes to St James' Park on Friday evening, with Cardiff, although he's a regular at the ground anyway.

He's still a Toon fan, despite the shit he obviously gets for signing for the Mackems.
