Chelsea Player Hedging His Bets

According to reports this morning, Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips is still keen on a move to Newcastle United. But the only quote that has been published is that he is perfectly happy to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge. So pick the bones out of that.

Chelsea are said to be willing to use him as bait to lure Ashley Cole away from Arsenal, but the article uses the age-old bullshit report Wright-Phillips "has told friends" he would love to move to St James's Park after a disastrous move to Stamford Bridge just 12 months ago.

Another report claims "Wright-Phillips is available on loan, as long as a permanent £10m deal is completed in 12 months time", which in itself is a strange one. There is always an option included, like there was with Nicky Butt when he went to Birmingham, but what happens if he comes to Newcastle on loan and plays like an arse? Will Newcastle be FORCED to sign him?
