Manchester United and Arsenal will be among the first group of seeds, while Chelsea will be guaranteed a place in the second pot if they successfully negotiate the third qualifying round.
A freak set of results in the qualifying round could see Newcastle in the second pot of seeds, but that is bordering on the impossible.
