The longest transfer deal in history will NOT take place, according to reports from Celtic Park.

Stephen Carr has been linked with a move to Celtic for close on four years ... but it seems the Scottish giants don't want him ... even for free!

Carr was released by Newcastle in the summer and is a free agent.

But despite several clubs reported as being "interested" in the former Irish international, Celtic are certainly not one of them.
