Carroll: "For the goal it was a great long ball down the field by Fraser Forster, and luckily I read what their centre half was going to do in terms of heading it bac,k and won the ball before taking it round the keeper.
"It was nice to score knowing that Kevin Keegan was watching.
"It was a great occasion for the lads playing at St James's Park, and everybody really enjoyed it.
"ll I have to do is keep my head down and keep on working hard. The aim is to keep on scoring goals at this level, and hopefully between now and the end of the season I'll get a chance in the first team."
