According to reports from the midlands, Birmingham say the right back impressed on trial and a deal could be sorted.
Although the transfer window is closed, Carr is a free agent.
Carr, 32, left Newcastle at the end of last season and announced his retirement in December when he failed to find a new club.
Alex McLeish: "The downside is that he has not played since the end of last season but he looks fit enough."
