That has to be the laugh of the week ... following on from the Sunday Sun EXCLUSIVE that Fabrio Coloccini was going to sign for Real Madrid.
But it brought smile to Chris Hughton's face, as he laughed off news that the Catalan giants are keeping tabs on the Newcastle centre-half and are preparing a summer swoop.
Chris Hughton: "I am sure Steven Taylor is quite pleased with that one - and if I was in his shoes, I think I would be quite pleased with that one as well.
"There's no truth in it, as far as we know. Any interest and speculation regarding any of our players is probably testament to the good season they have had.
"I don't expect or envisage anybody looking to leave this football club.
"They have worked very, very hard to get this football club back into the top division so they can be part of it, and that being the case, I certainly don't expect to see anybody wanting to go."
