Boumsong Admits Mistakes

With Titus Bramble and Craig Moore having both recovered their fitness and Steven Taylor available again having served a one-match suspension, the French international knows the competition is hotting up.
Jean-Alain Boumsong: "I have been disappointed with my form, I have been annoyed with myself because I know I can play better. Adjusting to the Premiership is not easy and, in a few games, the one against Manchester United in particular, I have held my hands up and said I was to blame.
"This has been a learning experience and it will mean that I'm a better player in the future. I'm the first to admit that I have not been at my best (this season). But I have been playing for France so I know I can play.
"Why haven't I been at my best? I don't know. All players go through this - I'm not alone - but I know the experience will make me stronger. I hope that I will have shown the fans my best side again and that it is enough to get me into the French team.
"When I make mistakes, I think only of the supporters and the manager because I have let them down. But I'm a strong character and I will respond in the right way. When you play badly or give away a goal you feel awful. It is the worst feeling in the world because all you want to do is win games. It is up to us as players to perform."
