'Boring' Calderwood Frightens The Life Out Of Me!

Is Taylor trying to convince HIMSELF or the FANS that we have the right man?

We drafted in Calderwood after he got the sack from Nottingham Forest, which had many Toon fans wondering what the hell was going on ... because the only connection he has with the Toon is that Joe Kinnear was sacked from Forest in HIS last job too!

Calderwood's record this season is what horror movies are made of ... only FOUR wins in 26 games before Forest sacked him ... and we've only won ONE in 12 games since he's been here!

Steven Taylor: "It's been all about going back to basics. Colin Calderwood knows the game - he was a quality defender.

"You know what he's saying is right. He's been there and done that.

"We're playing a lot of 11-a-sides in training, with the defenders concentrating on keeping their shape.

"But, like Arsenal's George Graham, the defence is also being worked separately every day.

"It's about sticking to your 18-yard box, learning that's your zone as a centre-half.

"It may sound boring, but it gets results - it builds a unit.

"Adams, Bould, Dixon, Winterburn - they consistently played as a unit every day in training.

"That's what I would love to happen here.

"There always seem to be changes here."
