Bitter-Sweet For Solano

... if Newcastle beat Birmingham City in the FA Cup replay he will miss the FA Cup fourth round match with Reading.

It is a bitter/sweet situation for the Peruvian international ... the FA Cup or the Premiership match with Villa.

He is out of contract at the end of the current season, yet he admits he is desperate to earn a new deal that would see him see out his career on Tyneside.

Solano: "There's an option of another year and I have a good relationship with the club. I would be crazy to move again because I am now 32.

"I'm waiting to see what is going to happen because there is a lot of speculation about my contract. To be honest, I would love to play for a couple of more year years here and then go back to South America. I don't know where, maybe Peru.

"But Newcastle feels like a second home and I would love to finish my career here."
