Biggest Hint Owen Is On His Way!

The Welsh striker has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer and Aston Villa's boss Martin O'Neil has already made a bid.

But although Bellamy played for the Villa boss when he was on loan at Celtic Park, he insists he would love a move back to St James' Park, a place he says "I never wanted to leave in the first place".

The striker would cost in the region of £9 million, within Newcastle's price range with the new backing from the proposed new owner, although more than what Newcastle received for him when he went to Blackburn.

However, a swap deal for Michael Owen, looks the obvious alternative.

Owen STILL refuses to pledge his career to Newcastle, and Big Sam is starting to believe it would only take a word from Liverpool for the England international to run to Anfield (regardless whether Freddy Shepherd carries him or not).

Bellamy for Owen may not be the ideal situation ... but if Owen DOES walk out ... the Toon Army would never forgive him. It would be the most amazing betrayal of a club that has stood by him for two years and received almost nothing in return.

The clause was only put in the contract because Liverpool said at the time £17m for Owen was "ridiculous" and they would only pay £9m. And why on earth Freddy Shepherd allowed it is beyond belief!
