The former Newcastle winger played for both the Magpies and French giants Marseille, and says the pace of the game is far faster in England.

Waddle: "I know what playing both Leagues is like and they are different - especially if you have been used to playing in a particular division for a while.

"I think the big difference is the pace of the game and how much time you have on the ball, which means you have less time to think.

"And that can be a factor especially for players who aren't used to it.

"Rozehnal and Beye have played in France and are still working out what it's all about in the Premier League.

"But I think it's the same for anybody that goes to play in a new country - it takes time.

"Once you have learned to cope with the pace of things in England, you will do much better.

"And in six months or so both players will know exactly what it's about, and you'll see that in their performances."
