Beye - The Beye - The Toon Rolls-Royce!

Bob Moncur: "Habib Beye was like a Rolls-Royce at the end of last season and looked a class act, but you need to build your back four around a rock at the back.

"That, for me, would be Steven Taylor. If he continues to develop and keeps his feet on the ground, then alongside the right defensive partner he could be the future.
"Michaekl Owen seems to be enjoying the captain's role very much.

"It seems to have given him a new lease of life at Newcastle, so why take the armband from him now?

"However, if Owen is absent then I'd ideally have Nicky Butt as skipper because he has so much experience, and central midfield is the best area to see everything that is going on during a game.

"Without question the best younster in the squad is Andy Carroll. So far I have been impressed with him and I was disappointed not to see more of him last term, especially when the team was struggling and the lads obviously needed an element of rawness in the side to help them get out of the dogfight.

"I am sure the kid has a bright future ahead of him and, with Mark Viduka struggling with his Achilles, perhaps the start of the season may see him handed his opportunity."
