Bernard Can Forget Call Up

Newcastle Reserves were knocked out of the Northumberland Senior Cup by Whitley Bay and the Frenchman put in a horror 45 minutes that set the non-League side on their way.

The Magpies went down 2-1 at Kingston Park. Phil Bell gave Whitley Bay the lead after Bernard was caught ball watching on the edge of the area, but Lee Clark's lads scored on 75 minutes with a penalty.

Mark Doninger was fouled and new first team star Matty Pattison scored from the spot, but Bell made it 2-1 seconds later.
