Bellamy still searching for best form

The Welshman has only recently returned after a four-month absence with a knee injury, so it is no surprise that he is still struggling to find his touch and match fitness.

In the games against Blackburn and Middlesbrough he has though shown a few flashes of his best form, enough to suggest that his presence will prove to be more than just a psychological boost to our bid to clinch fourth place in the Premiership.

Bellamy told the Evening Chronicle: “I still feel that there is so much more to come from me.

"To tell the truth, I started to tire a bit by the end on Saturday but I don't want to dwell on talking about anything like that because I am enjoying every minute of it at the moment.

"I have got to get myself fitter. The physiotherapists are always there for me and they have been absolutely brilliant, but in the end only hard work from myself can get me there and that's what I am doing."
