Bellamy set for showdown talks

The Wales striker was fined £750 on Tuesday after pleading guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour after swearing at people outside a Cardiff nightclub.

Now Shepherd wants the opportunity to quietly (or otherwise) remind him of his responsibilities to the club and may choose to fine him.

"I want to hear what happened from Craig himself before deciding whether the club needs to take the matter any further,” Shepherd told the Evening Chronicle.

"At the moment we have only heard what has been reported by the media and I need to have the full story.

"So when he returns from international duty with Wales I will be holding a meeting with him."

Frankly I can’t help thinking that prosecuting someone for swearing while drunk is a waste of public time and money, and I’m more concerned with the discussions Sir Bobby should have with Bellamy about improving his form.
