Bellamy given all clear on knee injury

Bellamy is still doubtful for Newcastle's crucial Premiership games against Liverpool and Arsenal, as well as the cup tie against the Gunners.

However, today's scan has revealed that Bellamy will not have to go under the surgeon's knife, as was first thought.

To make matters worse though, Bellamy was today diagnosed with tonsilitis, although this will not keep him from training.

The results of Bellamy's scan have today been sent down to Cambridge for David Dandy, the country's top knee specialist, to double check.

Newcastle are just praying there are no hiccups like the ones they have suffered previously with Kieron Dyer.
