At one time that tattoo just about reached his knees, but he has stuck to his diet and lost 5st.

But his belly was out again on Saturday as he posed for photos with Newcastle owner Mike Ashley, who also showed a bit of pork.

Roberts is from Brockley Whins, South Shields, and spotted the billionaire ahead of Saturday's Wear-Tyne encounter at the Stadium of Light.

Beefy: "He was just one of the lads. He was just walking past in the ground on his way to his seat and I said 'Can I have my photo taken with you?'

"I lifted my top and he just said to me 'Well you've got your belly out, I'll have to get mine out'.

"It was the first time I have met him. All I can say is he is a gentleman who is one of the lads and just so down to earth.

"Mike Ashley is someone the club needs, someone who will put money into the club and to push the game forward.

"Everyone was singing 'There's only one Mike Ashley,' he was not a bit of bother and stopped for everyone."

Can anyone (who travels away) remember Simon "Sand-dancer" back in the 1980's?

Another guy who carried his weight well. Until he got stuck in the turnstiles at Notts County's Meadow Lane. Held the queue up at the away end for 20 minutes trying to get him through and three quarters of the Toon fans missed the start of the match.

If you can could you please post on our message board and let know what he's doing these days.
