The Hartlepool Daily Mail reported that ex-Barnsley and Rochdale boss Steve Parkin is the firm favourite to be appointed as Hartlepool United’s new manager. It went on to add that although Beardsley was a close friend of Monkeyhanger’s chairman Ken Hodcroft, he had been ruled out of the running because of a lack of coaching experience.
