Barton Has Played His Last Game For Newcastle!

Barton was suspended by the club after falling out with manager Alan Shearer over the midfielder's red card against Liverpool two weeks ago.

He reportedly insulted Shearer in front of other players after the match, and was told not to turn up for training. Barton has been asked to stay away from the club for a further week, but has not been dismissed.

Barton: "The meeting went fine.

"I can't say too much at the moment but I just hope the lads can prepare for the last two games of the season."

Sacking him would write off any transfer fee, so it is thought Newcastle will listen to offers for the midfielder in the summer, with Bolton and Blackburn showing interest.

He has played his last game for Newcastle, but Mike Ashley wants some money back ... even if it is only half what he paid out for him.

Ashley was prepared to sack the player when he served his jail term, but then-manager Kevin Keegan, swayed him to his way of thinking.
