Barca crash again

Barcelona piled the pressure on manager Louis van Gaal by losing 1-0 at struggling Rayo Vallecano.

A scrappy goal from Jorge Azkoitia in the 64th minute has saved the job of Vallecano coach Fernando Vazquez according to the Spanish press, who are now predicting van Gaal’s dismissal if we can beat the Catalan side on Tuesday.

Barcelona lie in 10th place in La Liga after Saturday’s matches and have only one domestic away win to their credit this season.

Internazionale produce a performance that we would have been proud of in drawing 3-3 at Lazio.

A Claudio Lopez hat-trick put the Roman side 3-0 up inside 35 minutes, although a Fernando Couto own goal gave Inter some hope before the break.

But two long-range scorchers from Turkish midfielder Emre after the break secured an unlikely point for the visitors.

Inter lie third in Serie A after Saturday’s game, but with Juventus playing Brescia today they should fall at least one place.

In Germany Bayer Leverkusen returned to form with a 3-0 win at 1860 Munich (remember them?).

Goals from Daniel Bierofka, Dimitar Berbatov and Oliver Neuville saw Klaus Toppmoller's side climb to 12th place in the Bundesliga.
