Bad News For Toon - 'Calamity' Misses Monday's Fixture!

England's "Mr Calamity", who's 'flap' cost Steve McClaren's side two points on Wednesday, picked up a calf injury during his country's costly defeat against Russia.

Robinson was at fault for Roman Pavlyuchenko's winner at the Luzhniki Stadium, and some suggest he is the main reason Spurs are fighting off relegation.

Spurs boss Martin Jol has stuck by the 28-year-old this season following a series of mistakes, and not only will it cost Jol his job ... but McClaren too.
Robinson will be replaced by Radek Cernyon for Monday's Premier League clash at St James's Park.

He has had a poor season by his own high standards, and was blamed for goals against Aston Villa and Liverpool just before the international break.

He also was caught out during the England friendly defeat to Germany - but McClaren kept faith in his number one.

Jol: "Paul was assessed, and it showed that he had picked up a calf strain while on England duty that will prevent him playing for us on Monday.

"Paul is playing for us - and when he played for England he always did well.
"They were very satisfied with him - otherwise he would not be number one, because at international level you can pick five, six or seven England goalkeepers.

"I'm a realistic man - you can come up with all the criticisms, and it's not my business. I want to focus on the Newcastle match."
