GROUND
With the completion of the East Stand in 2001, the club achieved its objective in completely rebuilding the Hawthorns and making it a modern stadium. Away fans are housed on one side of the Smethwick End, where the normal allocation is 3,000 seats. This Stand is shared with home supporters. For cup games they give up the entire Stand of 5,200 seats. The view is OK.
GETTING THERE
The ground is located on the A41 (Birmingham-West Bromwich road). The ground is half-a-mile from Junction1 of the M5. On leaving the M5 take the A41 towards Birmingham, the ground is on your right. Beware of speed cameras on this stretch of the A41.
PUBS
Probably the best is 20 minute walk to The Vine, on Roebuck Street. Getting a pint near the ground has long been a nightmare at this place. You could try the Asian run Desi Juncion pub, which isn't that far from The Vine.
TRAIN/METRO
The closest stations are the Howtjhorns which is 5 minutes walk to the ground, and Smethwick Street which is 15 minutes. The Hawthorns is served by a metro service from Birmingham Snow Hill station, whilst Smethwick served by Birmingham New Street.
