Allegedly, has told his business clients he has been reluctant to bring back Big Al because he wasn’t convinced that all of the interested parties so far would retain his services.

YET HE OFFERED A TWO YEAR CONTRACT TO KINNEAR!

His talks with Shearer crumbled in May after the pair met to discuss a new contract after relegation, with Shearer demanding control of ALL transfers and team matters, with no little tosser like Dennis Wise sticking his sneck into team affairs.

We heard that Ashley did give certain guarantees, but with not enough conviction to make Shearer believe he would keep them!

Derek Llambias was said to have spoken privately about the appointment of another interim boss at Newcastle, with Alan Curbishley, Gordon Strachan, Steve Coppell and David O’Leary all names that have been discussed.

But Kinnear's offer of a two year deal obviously blows that theory right out of the water!

Kinnear, who was NEVER a choice of anyone on Tyneside, has since accused Toon fans of having “delusions of grandeur” and said his record as Newcastle boss was "good".

Sadly, there weren't many in Newcastle today (who we spoke to) agreed.
