Sunday Sun: "The Magpies' owner has told would-be investors he is willing to lower his valuation of the club by more than 25 per cent from the £480 million he was demanding in Dubai last week.

"But with Ashley having made few friends during his visit, sources in Dubai insist he has blown any chance of doing a deal with anyone across the Middle East.

"The Sunday Sun understands the Sports Direct boss is threatening legal action over some of the reporting of his stay in the Emirates.

"But the damage to his already dented image appears to have been done, with other potential buyers in neighbouring Abu Dhabi said to be uninterested in a deal with him, despite him passing word that he is willing to do business at £350 million."
