“It’s ambitious, but the reason for the Trust is to give supporters in Newcastle a voice they have been sadly missing in the past.
“The time is over when owners of the club can just expect unconditional support and when managing director Derek Llambias said the fans could never own a share in the club he set the bar. We say why not?
“The campaign will seek to mobilise supporters, business, politicians, and the city behind the common goal of making sure Newcastle United takes its supporters seriously. The Trust’s aims are simple: ‘Supporters In.’
“We believe the time has come to start the process of making Newcastle United the community club it deserves to be.”
