Ashley 'Bottles It' And Sticks With His Puppet!

dMike Ashley conducted an exhaustive inquest into the club’s disappointing Premier League campaign this week, and Pardew, now the second-longest serving top flight manager, faced a tough questioning.

But it seems Ashley got the answers he wanted from the 51-year-old, who has come under fire from frustrated supporters in recent weeks.

SportMail understands that Ashley will keep faith with Pardew, although that certainly does not go down too well with supporters, if out NU-MAD message board is anything to go by.

United have made no public comment on the speculation over the future of Pardew, who signed an eight-year contract in September.

However, it seems Pardew is a better option to Ashley than someone who would challenge the owners opinion.

Pardew is keen to bring “two or three” players to St James’s Park to strengthen a squad which was found wanting last season in the face of an injury crisis.

But his top target - Andy Carroll - is off the list, according to reports this morning.

Ashley doesn't want him back, as Carroll was one of the infamous "clique" that voiced an opinion against the Newcastle owner.

Nobody - but NOBODY - has an opinion when Ashley is about!
