Armstrong Good Enough For Stadium Of Light?

Personally I don't think he is anywhere near Premier League standard, but John Carver doesn't not see it that way.

Armstrong scored for England under-18s against Switzerland, but loan enquiries were met with a firm refusal, an indication acting boss John Carver still sees him playing a part in the final stretch of the season.

Ayoze Perez is set to lead the line for United at Sunderland a week on Sunday but Armstrong is vying with Emmanuel Riviere for the second striker’s spot – if Carver decides to go for broke at the Stadium of Light against nervous hosts.

Newcastle’s threadbare squad was behind the decision not to loan any of the youngsters out as the emergency loan deadline came and went.

But I don't think Newcastle fans will want Carver to go with Armstrong at the Stadium Of Light.
