Gutierrez went public and said he wants to stay at St James Park ... but the Italian giants have been enquiring about the players availability.
However, Lazio are not flush with cash and it is hard to see them coming up with the funds required to lure Gutierrez away from St James Park ... and some Italian fans believe it is nothing more than an exercise in showing the fans they are still capable of going after star players.
I would mark this rumour "load of bollox" if I were you.
