Anelka Rumour Still Continues

 But ... Fenerbahce striker Nicolas Anelka will not be returning to England to join Newcastle United, according to the Turkish club.
The Magpies boss tried to sign the player in the summer, and despite managing to capture Michael Owen and Albert Luque, is keen to bring in another striking option in the January transfer window.
Anelka has suggested that he could be tempted into a move to St James' Park, and Souness has been an admirer for a long time. But, apparently, he has settled in well at Fenerbahce and the club have dismissed any transfer speculation.
"Anelka is happy at Fenerbahce," said the vice-president of the club Nihat Ozdemir. "Our fans love him and we want to be successful in the UEFA Champions League, so it is not possible we would sell him to Newcastle."
