A United representative (thought to be Freddy Shepherd) travelled to talk to Fenerbahce at an undisclosed European destination today, according to another report from the Chronicle who seem to be well genned up on the deal.
A source from Istanbul told the newspaper: "Fenerbahce will not be moved by any antics Anelka wants to get up to. After all, they see things like this all the time in Turkey. And Newcastle should not think they are going to get Anelka on the cheap. For Fenerbahce will have noticed that Liverpool have signed a non-scoring striker in Peter Crouch and they feel their man is a better proposition."
