Andy Cole believes that Newcastle United MUST address their lack of squad depth this summer.
Andy Cole: “There’s got to be improvement.
“I don’t know what Mike Ashley’s plans are for Newcastle this season, but the back end of last season was very disappointing.
“The fans were dejected by the end.
“Hopefully they will be able to address the situation.
“If Mike Ashley doesn’t want to invest in the football club, maybe find a suitable buyer because the Geordie fans deserve a lot better than what they are getting.
“Newcastle might need four or five players to be honest – if they have any real expectations of finishing in a European position.
“What does Mike Ashley want from Newcastle United Football Club?
“Newcastle is so unstable at the moment.
“One season they can finish in the top top 10, another they could be scratching around the relegation zone.
“That’s the inconsistency of where Newcastle are at.
“If they can buy three or four players, you never know what will happen.
“But you don’t know what Mike Ashley wants to do.”
