Ameobi Transfer On The Cards - At Last!

Ameobi's agent said the player would be keen to talk over a move to the East Anglian club.

Steven Denos: "He's not going to the MLS, that's not an option we're looking at. We've had no contact from Middlesbrough and no offer in from Norwich City.

"It's certainly something we would consider if Norwich approached us.

"But Norwich haven't done anything yet."

Roeder wants the striker but said last January "not at the riduculous price Stoke City are willing to pay".

As it happens, Stoke took notice and pulled out of the deal, as Ameobi failed to impress during his loan spell and was only introduced to games from the bench.

Ameobi, who still has 12 months to run on his current contract, is surplus to requirements under Kevin Keegan, but although the Magpies would want a sizeable transfer fee if he was to leave, they are willing to half the £5m asking price.
