Allardyce Wants Charlie To Have His Chance

Charlton Athletic asked about the French youngster last January, and Arsenal have allegedly been watching him for two years, although the Magpies insist Wenger has not made any kind of offer.

The Hammers are still ready to 'splash the cash' after completing the club record £7.5m signing of former United striker Craig Bellamy yesterday, but Allardyce is not interested.

The youngster had a big fall-out with former Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder over his mobile phone. He was caught phoning friends from the dug-out at Fratton Park DURING a match, and Roeder was furious when he caught him texting during a pre-match team talk.

N'Zogbia responded by insisting he wanted to leave the club this summer. He refused to be a substitute against Watford and left the ground before kick-off, only to return when he realised he did not know where he was.

However, Allardyce sees the 21-year-old as a rare talent and wants to give him a chance to prove what he can do.

West Ham are still likely to make a £4m bid in an attempt to test United's resolve.
