Allardyce Didn't Carry Out His Threat With Babayaro!

Babayaro, as I'm sure you know, is hardly the man of the moment with Toon boss Sam Allardyce.

The ex-Chelsea defender may have seen the bright lights at Stamford Bridge and played his part in a Premiership title win, but he was on the team sheet for the Northumberland Senior Cup tie ... and we still don't know why he didn't play.

Having taken an age to return from injury, and playing the old Marcelino trick of having a relapse whenever the medical staff give him the all clear, Big Sam has just about had enough of Mr Babayaro.

There has been talk of a transfer in January ... IF the left-back is fit of course ... but he insists he will not take a drop in wages to move on. And if you think you've heard that one before ... cast your mind back to Albert Luque.

For the record, Newcastle's youngsters were level at half-time 0-0 with Alnwick, but I'd love to know what Lee Clark put in the tea at the interval.

They rattled in SEVEN in the second period to win 7-0.

James Troisi (52,83), Jonny Godsmark (60,64), Kazenga Lua Lua (78), Mark Doninger (81) and Ryan Donaldson (85) scored the goals.

and Shola Ameobi are set for starts against Alnwick Town tonight in a Northumberland Senior Cup tie away to the Northern Alliance Premier Division side.
