Advantage Inter

Sir Bobby

"It's obviously disappointing for us because we had to win here to give ourselves a chance.

"But had this been the first game of the series, coming here and drawing 2-2 would be a fabulous result.

"But in the context of having to win it to stay in the competition, it's obviously now disappointing. Twice we were in the lead and twice we couldn't hold on to it.

"We did very well, but we've just got to learn to defend a little bit better away from home at this level.

"We've got beaten on two crosses with two headers, and that's a little bit disappointing.

"I'm disappointed with a draw here, Hector Cuper will be delighted with a draw - he'll be jumping with delight.

"As long as mathematically it's possible, we'll always have a chance, but the advantage obviously is with Inter because if they win their last game, they go through even if we win our last game

"I don't think Bayer are capable of beating Inter - but I know I don't know everything about football. Anything can happen.

"But my feeling is that Inter will have too much for Bayer. That's why I'm feeling a little bit disappointed - but I'm hopeful."

Hector Cuper

"We wanted to win before, during and after the match, but the way the game went, a draw is quite a good result.

"I'm very satisfied. The team did as well as it possibly could have done in the circumstances and could have won it.

"We have one striker in Akinwunmi Martins and after his excellent second-half performance, I'm confident, as I'm confident in the whole team that we can get the result we need.

"We can't afford to be worried - I have every confidence in my players. But Newcastle should also be pleased with the draw given that both teams had chances to win it and it could have gone either way."
