A New Left-Back Need Not Be A priority!

John Beresford: "I don't think we have seen the best of Jose Enrique, but let's hope we do right from the off next season.

"Obviously, as a left-back myself I have watched him closely and there is a lot of talent there.

"But I think at times he has been trying too hard and he should learn to relax a bit more, but there is clearly more to come from him.

"To be fair, he came into a side which seemed a bit low in confidence and that did not help him.

"And he would not be happy when United played Charles N'Zogbia, who is really a midfielder, in his position at left-back.

"But without being disrespectful to Charles, who I really rate as a midfielder, I think Jose Enrique is a far better left-back.

"What I would like to see is for Kevin Keegan to go out and buy a left-back to give Jose Enrique some competition, because I am convinced he will thrive on it.

"But he must be really looking forward to the new season. He has a season under his belt and he's not a new lad on the block any more so it is up to him to show us what he can do.

"There is a big prize out there waiting for Jose Enrique and it is up to him to claim it."
