90 Minutes To Become A Legend

Scott Sellars has told his former team: "Score the winner against Sunderland on Sunday and it will stay with you for the rest of your life." Sellars did just that when he curled in a free-kick in his only Tyne-Wear derby match at St James' Park at the end of the 1993 season. It was the only goal of the game and set United up to clinch promotion at Grimsby Town amid ecstatic scenes three days later.
Scott Sellars: "If the game had not been on the television, and if we had not had three games left in the last week of the season, I am sure the match would not have been staged. I had only been at the club since March, and while I had a lot of highlights with United this had to be the most memorable moment. It really helped me settle in at St James' Park and helped me become recognised so early in my stay at the club.
"What I would say to any Newcastle player for Sunday is score the winner and enjoy it and it will stay with you for the rest of your life. I had a few drinks bought for me at the time, but I never thought for one moment that people would be talking about that goal 12 years later.
"I have seen a bit of Charles N'Zobgia and I like him and I have been impressed by him, even though he is still young. And I think that the likes of Emre, Scott Parker and Michael Owen have been excellent signings by Graeme Souness."
