FC Basel have told Newcastle they will only let Eren Derdiyok move to St James' Park if the Magpies cough up the £6m asking price.
Whether Keegan will make Derdiyok the first signing of his second spell at the club is all down to the price.

United officials are understood to have met representatives of Derdiyok in London last week.
He scored against England at Wembley in Fabio Capello's first game in charge, and had a hand in all three of Switzerland's Euro 2008 goals.
