Joey Barton banned from football for 18 months after betting charges verdict, amongst classics was £497.50 on Newcastle to beat Stevenage!
The former Newcastle player broke rules relating to betting on football matches and has been fined £30,000 and has to pay costs.
He also picks up an 18 month ban from playing which would make him 36 when it ends, effectively meaning it ends his career.
Not one to take it lying down, Joey Barton has spoken out after the verdict/case and says he plans to appeal.
