Hugo & Shola in international action

Last updated : 11 June 2003 By Martyn Elliott

Portugal beat Bolivia 4-0 in Lisbon thanks to goals from Jorge Andrade and Fernando Couto and a brace from rumoured Toon transfer target Helder Postiga.

Viana played a vital role for the home team with his set pieces leading to the second and fourth goals.

Meanwhile Shola had an off night as England Under-21s beat Slovakia 2-0 at the Stadium of Light - presumably he thought that poor performances were obligatory for the home side at that venue.

A Dolezaj own goal and a late Phil Jagielka header ensured David Platt’s side took all three points, while Shola was substituted 19 minutes from time.

Darren Ambrose was an unused substitute in the match, while Michael Chopra is still waiting to make his Under-21s debut after not making the bench.
