When asked if the new striker had enjoyed a positive reception, McClaren said: “I think so.
“I think you saw that, didn’t you?
“He’s one of them old type of centre-forwards isn’t he?
“And he’s only 20 years old so he’s still got a lot of potential to come.
“I wish he’d have just stuck the ball in the back of the net.
“That would have made the day perfect.”
